Supporting children in foster care who speak and understand languages other than English by providing them with culturally and linguistically appropriate resources. We aim to create a supportive environment that respects and celebrates their diverse backgrounds.

Project Overview

Many children in foster care face emotional, cultural, and linguistic challenges due to the lack of language and cultural proficiency among foster parents and social workers. This creates a vacuum that can hinder their emotional and cultural development. LB Life seeks to bridge this gap by providing volunteers from various walks of life, religions, and languages to support these children and their families.

Public Benefits

🗣 Cultural and Linguistic Support – Provide children and their biological families with appropriate services to support speedy reunification or easy adjustment into foster care when Social Services are unable to provide it.
👨‍👩‍👧 Parental Guidance – Offer consultation and advice to foster parents to help them better understand and support the children’s cultural and linguistic needs when there is a clear lack of that kind of support from Social Workers.
🎉 Community Engagement and Well-being – Organize activities and events that celebrate different holidays and cultural milestones, allowing children to connect with their heritage. It is crucial to the child’s mental and developmental well-being to feel connected to their culture and customs while learning and becoming Americans.
